HeyThereDlilah took myrthling #3 to the Galleria area for an activity that started at 5:30 PM. Knowing this was going to happen, I stayed late at work. I boarded a bus at 6:40 PM. All this to say that HTD and m3 were passing the Park & Ride lot at the very moment I was exiting. We honked and waved. She called saying m3 wanted to go with me for my daily find. Who am I to refuse such a request? After the switcheroo, it was a quick drive to GZ for any easy find.

Flying Solo

As it does every morning, my bladder woke me well before my alarm was set to go off. As I do every morning, I checked my phone. As I do every time I see a New Cache email, I considered whether or not to make the run for FTF. When my eyes lit on the new cache’s owner’s name, my routine suddenly changed. What a surprise! My lovely wife published a cache? My lovely wife published a cache! I took care of business, grabbed my sneakers and darted out the door.

And... ZINGO!! {FTF} at 6:06 AM. Whoop! And the container and log sheet match the cache title? There’s a theme! Even though this cache might not make Youtube, here’s a 💚. Well done indeed! Also, you never know...

George and the log were both damp. However, it’s a sunny July afternoon and my engine has been at it since Downtown. I placed each on the HOT hood of the myrthmobile for about 30 seconds. Then flipped. Then signed and repackaged. Follow me for more recipes 😁

I forgot to mention this in my Found It log. I have now broken my biggest streak. Today is 83 days in a row with a logged cache or event… WOOHOO!! On my way to a year.

At GZ, almost all at once and definitely in this order...

1. I spotted the cache;
2. I saw a fuzzy gray branch next to the cache;
3. I thought to myself, “What an odd branch;”
4. I reached forward and touched the container;
5. The branch darted away;
6. I jumped back, clutching my chest;
7. I realized it was a squirrel’s bushy tail; and
8. I was pelted with a dozen acorns from above.

Number 8 may have been my imagination. But then, why do I have bruises? Maybe I’m nuts 🥜
