Wharton County Museum

I accidentally snapped a photo while searching with my phone in selfie mode. Don’t mind the sour face: it’s just hot and bright out. I really did enjoy this cache, I promise! Haha!!

Thank you, OregonMo_40. God bless! 2 Corinthians 5:21

What Speeding Buffalo?

I have discovered an EXCELLENT spot for viewing the speeding buffaloes: there's a sidewalk where I can set up my favorite chair, a fresh breeze off the bayou, and countless things to I SPY while waiting for the beasties to arrive. Speaking of which, I have not yet actually seen any buffaloes speeding by despite the advertising every block. Maybe it's all a hoax...Buffalo Speedway? Hmphh!!

While you're not likely to see buffaloes speeding by, you can find a geocache here. Happy hunting! Oh, if you DO see a buffalo, let me know; I know where his wings are.

Special thanks to NanoBanana.

Texas Proud

You kept me out of jail…without a geocache each day, I’d have to streak another way!

Noble Warrior

My mom recently gave me this container with instructions to use it for a geocache. I was surprised she'd give it up because for as long as I can remember, this little guy was the source of all the various medicines she kept in her purse—since I was a child! (If you know me, you can do the math.) I think it definitely qualifies as a noble warrior.

Happy caching!

just pannin' for tobacco and lookie what we found!

“Howdy y’all!” from Houston. Found with MrGeoSpyder on the last full day of our vacation. We enjoyed the great father-son bonding time.

We looked for half an hour or so without luck. I checked old logs and photos. We expanded our search radius. Nada. We’d almost given up—I’d actually saved a DNF log in Cachly—when MGS spotted something that didn’t belong and also wasn’t the drinking- and smoking-litter that is somewhat prevalent here. He investigated further and Eureka! I deleted my saved DNF log and congratulated my oldest on a job well done.

Speaking of well done, as others have said this cache is amazing! A well deserved +💚

Old Faithful Geyser at Yellowstone National Park

Howdy from Houston, y’all! Vacationing in Montana with my family. Today, we’re heading to Yellowstone.

We have oohed and aahed all morning. Now we’re waiting for Old Faithful to erupt in about half an hour. This is my first national park visit and my first cache in Wyoming. Answer sent, pic attached.

With HeyThereDlilah, MrGeoSpyder, and two more myrthlings.

Thank you, WYO R. God bless! 2 Corinthians 5:21

Atlantic or Pacific

Howdy from Houston, y’all! Vacationing in Montana with my family. Today, we’re heading to Yellowstone.

When we left this morning, I had no idea we’d be going thru Idaho. We stopped for the requisite border sign group photo. I checked for nearby caches and was pleasantly surprised to find one less than 200 feet away. HeyThereDlilah, MrGeoSpyder, and I made the quick walk and find while the younger two myrthlings stayed in the car. We dodged a bunch of groundhog (?) holes; I found one of them the hard way. Down I went! 300 lbs. of 6’4” human does not fall gracefully! Fortunately, all I hurt was my pride.

A new state and souvenir for all of us! +💚

MSP Airport Earthcache - Cretaceous Sea Creatures

Traveling to Montana for a week with HeyThereDlilah, MrGeoSpyder and the other two myrthlings. As a well-prepared geocacher, I had sought out airport virtuals, EarthCaches, and ALs we could do during layovers. I was SUPER pleasantly surprised to find one placed by one of my Houston geobuddies, so it HAD to be on the list.

HTD and -thling #2 stayed at the gate with our luggage while MGS and -thling #3 made the 0.2 mile trek to the cache site. We almost overshot our intended GZ because I was targeting the original Waypoint. Fortunately, I remembered to look for the toony landmark. Short on time, we took pictures of the fossils and ourselves (with appreciated help from a passing flight attendant) and then beat it back to our gate. We probably could’ve lingered longer because we are back and STILL waiting for boarding to begin. Sigh. Such is air travel. Don’t they know adventure awaits?!

Answers sent via GC app. Great geology + fun diversion + from a friend = 💚
