Cache a Secret Casque?
What a fun thing to learn about! Why have I not heard of this before?! Super fascinating!
At GZ, something told me to look before leaping into the leaves. When I did, I saw two happy, beady little eyes staring back at me from a pile of fur. I thought, “What a clever container!” but that same something advised me to look again. “Wait. That’s not what the hint said I should be looking fo—holy crap, that thing’s alive!!”
I got a decent look at some sort of rodent nestled near the tree’s trunk. It was bigger than a mouse but looked friendlier than a rat. Too small to be a possum unless it was a young one. I tried to grab a picture but it slipped away quietly while I was fumbling for the camera app on my phone. Oh well...
But now I’m on edge as I sift through branches looking for a cache. I don’t want to be surprised and/or bitten by a critter (even a cute one) while I’m focused on something else. I find the cache and then fumble some more to retain my pen and phone while opening it. Then, my camera went off, flash and click noise startling me back onto the sidewalk. I swore and swore again as a passing bicyclist startled me from the other side. I’m surrounded!!
Pause... Breathe... Relax... This is your hobby you’re doing... You like geocaching... Ready? Okay... Let’s try again...
Finally got my clumsy hands to obey me. Opened, signed, and replaced the cache without further incident.
I think I’ll take up casque hunting. On second thought, maybe I’ll just do the adventure labs. Who knows what might spook me if I were hunting real treasure... Sheesh!
Thank you, Rathergohiking. God bless! 2 Corinthians 5:21

A Blind Man's Bluff
Went to Stage One and used the hint. Came to that intersection. Unless I’m missing it, there is no “DRY” anywhere. I checked some likely spots nearby and saw what I thought was a bent wire in a hole. Nope, dead mouse’s tail. Now thoroughly grossed out, I’m going home to boil my hand in bleach. 😏 Maybe next time, or maybe it’s gone?
